Wolf

What lies in the darkness?

If we don’t confront our fears, will they come and get us anyway?

Our hero finds herself falling from her waking life into a dense forest; the stuff of fairy tales and horror films. Alone, afraid, she senses something is circling in the deep dark. Is it as bad as she imagines? Or worse? If she can outrun it, she’ll never find out what she was fleeing from….

This boldly original physical theatre production celebrates the power of fairy tales and the role that fear plays in our lives. It features large-scale projection, filmic sound design and an original fantasy horror score composed by Quincy Grant and recorded by the Adelaide Art Orchestra, conducted by Timothy Sexton.

REVIEWS

"Adelaide is richly blessed when it comes to theatre for young people, and Andy Packer's Slingsby has done it again in Wolf, which is right up there with the very best."

"The list of collaborators reads like a Who's Who of local theatre, with special mentions due to Sophie Hyde for fabulous film work and especially composer Quincy Grant, whose expansive, accessible score – think John Adams goes to the movies – has been stunningly recorded by the Adelaide Art Orchestra under Timothy Sexton."

"The school children who formed most of the large audience were held spellbound, like everyone else, and the applause was loud, long, and absolutely genuine."

"Take your kids and see it yourself."
